Instructed sessions

All of the sessions listed on the other pages are self-directed groups. As I have lately been receiving a lot of interest from people looking for instructed sessions, I have listed classes and tutors I know about below (if you know of any other classes, please let me know and I’ll add them).

University of Western Australia Extension courses: UWA Extension runs a year-round program of short courses and events which provide both practical learning opportunities and enjoyable experiences across a wide range of topics. There are a variety of drawing and painting workshops available and they are all listed here.

Claremont School of Art: Offering a wide variety of courses in the field of visual arts, you can view their listing of sessions here.

Perth Art School: Classes are organised in six week terms with seven students to a class, offered throughout the year. You can find out more here.

Peter Efford: Bali Arts Programs at Pondok Saraswati – Here is an opportunity for 5 participants to enjoy a very special look at the Arts and Culture of Bali, experience rural and village Bali, and to explore their own creative talents. The program is tailored to meet the needs of individual participants and always includes special art events, life drawing, contact with local artists and craftspersons, visits, and the wonderful hospitality of Pondok Saraswati along with the delights of Ubud just 10 minutes away.

Sarah Booth: These classes are broken in to three levels Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced. The Foundation classes are ideal for those who want to learn how to draw objectively with no previous experience. Intermediate classes will focus on developing a loose way of working and media experimentation and the Advanced classes will focus on style development and creativity. You can find out more here.

Kiah Bouchet: One of our former models (with ten years experience) is now running her own instructed sessions, twice a week. Based in Fremantle, the sessions run on Monday and Tuesdays and are three hours long apiece. You can find out more here.
