Model updates and life on the Fringe

Greetings all,

First up, thank you to everyone who came out on Monday, it’s been a while since we were filled to maximum occupancy like that, which was great to see (especially with so many new faces).

Next week we have something different. Firstly, we will be having Marnie in, which is a first for… oh, two years now? And she also happens to be about 34 weeks pregnant. Which means that this will most likely be the last time we have her in. To compliment her, we’ll also be having Ron in. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ron, he is an older, and very skinny, individual, which should make for a great contrast to Marnie.

Fringe Festival Events!
One of our regulars, Chris, is doing an outdoor portrait session as part of the festival and will be doing so Feb 6th and 7th from 8pm onwards. He is set up by the the Perth Cultural Centre and will be drawing people using his tablet. The process of doing so will be displayed on the wall while he works, which is a really fun thing to see. Actually, here’s the blurb from the Fringe page:
The event can be described as live projected street portraiture — a very traditional practice combined with digital tablets and video projection. Highly regarded by judges at the Gertrude Street Projection Festival 2014, Cinema Portraits is a public engagement in which the audience becomes the spectacle. Become immortalised on the walls of Perth’s Cultural Centre as crowds look up to a building sized portrait of yourself as depicted by the Perth artist Chris Lawrence.

Secondly, a life model who we have never been able to get in (but I have tried numerous times, it always comes down to bad timing) is doing a solo cabaret show about what it’s like to be a model. It also concludes with a life drawing session, and sounds really interesting. It runs for two nights next week (the 11-12th). You can find out more and purchase tickets here.

Happy drawing everyone!

Lots of the pretty pictures

I have the whole lot of images to put up, and so I have. The whole month of June in fact. These images are from when we had in Anita, Marnie and Vincent (and in that order).

A little behind

Greetings all, my apologises for a lack of updates.

We’ve had a fantastic turn out the last two weeks (from which I will be putting up pictures from next week’s I’m a little behind now) with Anita (in which was her last modeling gig here in Oz) and Marnie. This Monday (the 25th) we’ll be having in a new model for us by the name of Vincent.

As I mentioned in last week’s session I’ll be having someone else fill in for me for the month of July as I have some other things I need to take care of. Sebastian is one of our regulars and knows how the sessions are run, so you’ll all be in good hands. So the sessions are still on, and I have most of the models booked in for the month already so everything will run smoothly. The only real difference is that there will now be someone else’s music for everyone to make fun of (as now Bling Melon has been added to the list of Stereolab and Alice Cooper as not being good music).

Still around yet

We had another good turnout this week for Marnie. Not as huge as last week, but it was great that there were some faces we hadn’t seen for awhile and some new faces too. We changed up the format a bit so we didn’t have any 30 minute poses, instead, we had 2x15mins and 3x20mins. Gotta say it was fun, may have to do more of that in the future. Theme for the evening was Metronomy, M83 and Hooverphonic (even if Marnie did make fun of that choice).

We’re back baby!

Greetings all,

It’s been awhile, but the sessions will be back up and running from next week (the 7th). Same time and format as always (6-8:30ish).
The upcoming models that we are having in are Nin on the 7th, followed by Victoria on the 14th (which is great as they two are almost always unavailable, Victoria in particular hasn’t been in to model for us in about 6 months or so). Continuing the month, on the 21st we’ll be having Marnie as our model for the evening. Please note that there will not be a session on the 28th, instead I have decided to move it o the Wednesday night (the 30th) as a once off. Sorry about that, but it’s the Ms’ birthday, and I’m not going to miss that. The model for that night will be a new face to the modelling scene by the name of Mark. After that we will be going back to or normal schedule and I’ll update you all on the models for December closer to the beginning of the month.

Again my apologies for putting them on hold and having to do some last minute cancellations, but life had a habit of getting in the way what with the baby, work and uni. Speaking of uni, for those of you interested, there is a graduate show for the BFA students (of which I happen to be one) happening a week Thursday (so the 10th). September already?

That’s crazy.

We had a great showing with Marnie in last week. Musical theme for the evening involved Ladytron, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult (whom Marnie informed me sound suspiciously like Machine Gun Fellatio, so I’m going to have to check them out) and a bit of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Round-up

We’ve been having a good last couple of weeks.

Ron was in on the 22nd and the musical themes was the likes of U2 and The Cure. I didn’t run the session so I have no pictures to show from the work that was done (I’m going to need to sort that out).

On the 29th we had Sophie in for another great session. Musial theme was a bit different for the evening with Stereolab, Porno for Pyros, Sneaker Pimps and The Rentals carrying us through the evening. Pictures from the night are below.

Tomorrow night (the 5th), we’ll be having Marnie in which is going to be fun.

Ciao
