Greetings all,
We had a great session with Victoria as our model last week.
This coming Monday (the 15th) our model will be Nin, and the following Monday will be Sinéad, a new model for us.
Have a good weekend everyone.

No regular session and an awesome outdoor one
Greetings all,
We’ve had a great session this week (which I wasn’t sure would happen due to the weather) with Kieran, so thank you everyone for coming out (especially to all the new faces)!
There will be no session on April 1st due to the holiday. When we come back on the 8th we’ll have Victoria in for which will be only the second time we’ve been able to have her in in a year. So that’s great.
For those of you needing your drawing fix on Monday night (the 1st), Dr. Sketchy’s is doing a special outdoor drawing event in Northbridge (and another one on the 15th). I’ve copied the details below, or you can check out the site here.
Date: 01 Apr 13
Start: 6:30PM
Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art School Perth brings you two nights of freedom in the Piazza!
That’s right, Dr Sketchy’s is completely free to the public this month in the Northbridge Piazza where you can lay on the decadent grass under the big screen and sketch as some of the more fantastical propwork, sets and costumed life models are displayed for your sketching pleasure! Life Modelling by stunning Burlesque queens and circus performers. The most beautiful and bizarre come out for the purpose of furthering your art work.
Bring along your sketchpad and whatever medium you fancy. Easels are welcome up the back and bring a drop sheet if you intend on doing some flamboyant paint work. Games, prizes, daring performances and our host the Insane German Scientist, Dr Barry Umenema will have you laughing through the evening! Life drawing just got a whole lot more interesting!
Come one, come all – open to artists and beginners alike. Talent welcome, but not at all necessary, just BYO art supplies!
Whoops!
Sorry everyone, just realised that I haven’t updated in awhile.
Tonight (the 18th), we’ll be having Jane as our model. Next week (the 25th), Kieran will be in.
Also, just of note, there will be no session on April 1st as it is another holiday.
Cheerio!
A torrent of pictures!
I have been slack in updating the pictures, so here’s a bunch from the last four sessions! And one last reminder that there is no session on March 4th.
A new model and a skipped date
We had another huge night this week, with the room just about at bursting point, but we still had some fun and it was great to have Richard in as it’s always fun to have a new model. And continuing with new models, next week (the 25th) we’ll be having another new model in by the name of Kerry.
There will be no session on March 4th due to it being a holiday.
Two other quick things:
1) If you’ve been in this year you may have heard me say that we are changing rooms from next, well not so! We’re keeping the same one for the year which is great.
2) If you have been in this year and gave me your email address for the mailing list but haven’t received an email from me, it’s because I am terrible at reading handwriting and have entered some of them incorrectly. Sorry about that!
Cheers everyone!
We’ve come so far baby
Greetings all, we’ve had a fantastic first two weeks back at UWA with a whopping 18 new faces between the two sessions! Thanks to everyone who has been coming out (the room may have been a bit tight last time, but we made it through!).
We had Lucy the first week, and a new face for us, Trent last time (pictures will be coming in the next few days), next week we have a one-off treat of a Kiwi model by the name of Richard who will be in town just for the week, so that will be fun.
Cheers!
We’re back baby!
The sessions at UWA return this coming Monday (the 4th), and the Bassendean groups start on Tuesday (the 5th) on their new day (moved from Wednesday).
Happy drawing everyone!
Our first show
Well the show wraps up tomorrow (18 Friday @ 7pm) so I thought I’d post some photos from the day we opened and all the work was finally on the wall. We had 20 artists in total, with a whopping 270 pieces on display. It was certainly a learning experience, and I imagine that, if we manage to have another one (I’m still not sure how I found time to put this one together) it’ll be even better.
A huge thanks to all of the artists that offered to put their work on display, and if anyone would like to come on out and have a look, they still have another day and a bit to get into the Cullity Gallery to do so.
We’re having an exhibition!
The UWA group is having an exhibition of our work in mid-January. If you’ve ever been out to one of our sessions and would like to have your stuff up or want to know more, then contact me (change the ‘AT’ to a ‘@’) and I’ll tell you more.
For everyone else, I’ll have some more info up soon.
