The ball has begun rolling

Hello all, we’ve had a great first two sessions to the year. On the 30th we had Victoria in (with a short, curly and ginger hairstyle no less) and she was accompanied by Ladytron, M83 and Metronomy. Andrew was our model on the 6th and he was accompanied by Alice Cooper and The Cure.

Next week we’ll be back in our regular room, and we’ll have a new model by the name of Brooke being our model for the evening. The following week well be having Ron in.

By the way, there will be no session on March 6th as it is a Holiday, nor will there be one on March 19th due to outside commitments.

Cheers

Hello 2012!

Greetings all,

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing break. Our sessions return next week (Jan 30th) at our regular time of 6pm, but not in our regular room (at least for the first two weeks). As our room is being refurbished (I’m afraid I do not what hose refurbishments are at the moment) I guess they thought it would be unwise for us to trample through the room?

This room is about a 30 second walk away from our regular room (for those of you who have been coming since the beginning, it’s actually the original room at we started in) and is even closer to the Clifton St carpark as it is part of the ALVA Studio. I’ll have some signs up indicating the room, but if you do happen to go to the old room I’ll have a map up showing where the Studio is. The map below shows where the temporary location is in relation to the Lecture Theatre.

The first model we’ll be having in is Victoria, and on Feb 6th we’ll be having Andrew as our model.

Goodbye 2011

We had a smaller turnout for our last session of the year, but that worked out quite fine. The wine, cheeses and dip made the smaller group quite fun. Our theme for the evening was Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin.

We’ll be back in 2012 on Jan 30th.

For those interested in other life drawing sessions, I recommend checking out some of the other sessions before going in. Most of them will be taking a break at this time of the year. On the other hand, Dr. Sketchy’s tends to have even more during the summer on different days, so I recommend checking out there site to stay on top of that.

Happy holidays everyone.

A catch up

We’ve had a great last couple of sessions with Mark in on Nov 30th and Yollie in on the 5th. Musical themes have been along the lines of Beck, Arcade Fire and Garbage (also gave White Zombie a try but it didn’t quite work). We have one more session for the year on the 12th, and Kieran will be our model for the night.

And one last time

Just reminding everyone again that the session for tomorrow night (the 28th) has been moved to the 30th.

After that we’ll have two more sessions for the year before we break for the summer. First up will be a new face for us, Yollie, on the 5th, and we’re going to end the year where it began with Kieran on the 12th.

Reminder!

Hi folks, just a reminder that the session for next week has been to moved to the Wednesday night. After that we’re back to normal.

So, NO SESSION ON THE 28th, but on the 30th instead.

I should also mention that the model for the evening is a new face by the name of Mark who hails from Scotland. Should be fun.

We’re back baby!

Greetings all,

It’s been awhile, but the sessions will be back up and running from next week (the 7th). Same time and format as always (6-8:30ish).
The upcoming models that we are having in are Nin on the 7th, followed by Victoria on the 14th (which is great as they two are almost always unavailable, Victoria in particular hasn’t been in to model for us in about 6 months or so). Continuing the month, on the 21st we’ll be having Marnie as our model for the evening. Please note that there will not be a session on the 28th, instead I have decided to move it o the Wednesday night (the 30th) as a once off. Sorry about that, but it’s the Ms’ birthday, and I’m not going to miss that. The model for that night will be a new face to the modelling scene by the name of Mark. After that we will be going back to or normal schedule and I’ll update you all on the models for December closer to the beginning of the month.

Again my apologies for putting them on hold and having to do some last minute cancellations, but life had a habit of getting in the way what with the baby, work and uni. Speaking of uni, for those of you interested, there is a graduate show for the BFA students (of which I happen to be one) happening a week Thursday (so the 10th). Free drinks, nibbles and amateurish art, what more could you want, right? Consider this your formal invitation and feel free to come on out (oddly enough, I do not think I’ll actually be attending the actual evening festivities, but instead will go during the day).
Hope to see some of you next monday.

Session alterations

Greetings all,

Given that October is not going to be a good month for me and I’m not going to be able to have anyone run the sessions for me, I’m afraid that after the session on October 3rd the sessions will be on hiatus till the first week of November.
When we come back, we’ll be having two of our regular favourite models in, Nin will be our model on the 7th, and Victoria will be in on the 14th. I intend to make sure to book in the rest of the models well in advance so people know.
Sessions will then run until December 12th, at which point we’ll be taking a break for the holiday season (as if last year is any indication, things will be quite) and will return on January 23rd.
I’m sorry about the hiatus, but I have my final semester of studio at Uni as well as work and a bub that I need to focus on for the month.

Last minute cancellation

Greetings all,

My apologies, but I’m afraid I need to cancel the next session, as in tomorrow nights’ session, the one on the 26th. Unfortunately illness has overcome me and I cannot guarantee that I’ll be well enough to run the session.

Again, my apologies for doing this on such short notice.

Ciao

He’s a lumberjack

We had to do a last minute change as Frank was unable to make it in. Instead we got Kieran. And he brought an axe. Sadly we had a really low turnout, so not too many people got to appreciate the awesomeness of it. Musical theme for the evening was David Bowie and Pearl Jam.
