We had a small turnout last week, but some wonderful work came out whilst having Clint in. We had Alice Cooper and Led Zepplin accompanying us in the background too:
Hello all. First, a bit of a delayed thank you to Kieren for filling it on such a late notice on the 17th, and a thank you to Nigel for giving us a great last night of drawing. The music themes for their night were Arcade Fire, the Avett Brothers and Led Zeppelin.
Over the next two weeks, the models will be Kiah on the the 31st (if you haven’t had the chance to draw Kiah before than this will be a real treat, you can check out her website at http://kiah.id.au/gallery) and Lenny on the 7th (we’ve only had Lenny in once before, but when he was in he had the most awesome sideburns, a vest and a tie. If that doesn’t make for a fantastic character to draw, I do not know what does).
Well we had the final session at UWA on Monday night. Jasmine was our model for the evening and the musical theme was Authechre. That was the last session for the year, and we’ll be returning on January 17th, not the 10th like I had said earlier. Sorry about the confusion.
The drawing sessions at the King St Arts centre also finished up for the year earlier this week with the models being Gary for the first half and Roz for the second. They are now on a break and will be returning the first Tuesday in March (and should be continuing the rest of the year in that fashion too).
Have some happy holidays everyone.
Hello everyone. First off, a huge thank you to Gemma for being able to make it in on such short notice. The musical theme for the evening (as selected by Gemma), was Smashing Pumpkins and the Rentals (okay, that was more of my recommendation).
Secondly, there will not be a drawing session on September 27th. This is due to the holiday. But we will be back again on October 4th. Our model for that evening will be Kieren.
Once again work and Uni has distracted me from posting.
Over the last month we’ve had in Kieren, Victoria, Nigel and Kiah (in that order) and have all sorts of music to accompany them, from Bruce Springsteen to Sneaker Pimps to 5th Projekt.
The model this evening is Scott, so feel free to drop in.
We had a fantastic turnout on Monday (in fact, almost a little too fantastic in the numbers department, a couple more and we may have been at our limit), which was great as we did have a couple of slow weeks. It was made even better as about half of the group were in fact new faces, and some of them were even first timers.
Jasmine was our model and the music for the evening was Gorillaz. Coming up on the 16th will be Kieren.
I had started to then never got back to it.
Anyways, at UWA we had Jane last week (with a random music theme for the night) and Nigel this week (with Stereolab and R.E.M. accompanying the evening).
Coming up on the 9th is Jasmine.
Well, due to short-sightedness on my part, we didn’t have a male model for the night (at the UWA sessions we alternate between male and female every week). It wasn’t entirely my fault though, Kieren was out of the country, and Nin is out of commision due to an injury. I’ll make sure that that doesn’t happen again.
On the plus side though, it meant that we were able to get Gemma in (especially at short notice), and it was indeed a pleasure having her as our model for the evening. The musical theme for the evening was The Cure and Led Zepplin.
