Blackout dates

Good evening all, just a reminder that there is no session tomorrow night (the 19th), but we will be back the following week.

I also was just recently reminded of Easter Monday on April 9th, so that will be another night without a session (sorry about that, but the crowd is just too small on public holidays to warrant running a session, not to mention public transit is a joke on those days).

Ciao

Plenty of pretty pictures

We had a great last couple of weeks having Ron and Jasmine in.

With Ron we had the musical accompaniment of Led Zeppelin, The Raconteurs and Metronomy. For Jasmine we had Sneaker Pimps, Pivot and Radiohead. Images from the sessions are below.

When we’re back on the 12th, we’ll be having a new model in for our session by the name of Brooke, and on the 26th we’ll be having Kieran.

Reminder: No session on the 5th or 19th

Good evening all, just a reminder that there is no session at UWA tomorrow night (March 5th), nor the 19th.

For those of you wanting to make up for missing out, how about heading over to the Tuesday night session at the King Street Art Centre? 1st floor, just to the left of the steps, from 7-9:30. It’s their first session for the year and they’re having Lindsay as their model (who we have had in numerous times and is a very good model).

Ciao

Things are changing in the East

The regular Midland Junction Art Centre group have changed location! I’ll let Peter explain:

We are now to be found at St Marks Hall, Parker St Basendean 9.30 am on Wednesdays. It is a great venue with lots of parking and space in the hall. So we have decided to combine two sessions to run at the same time, one a portrait/nude 3 hour pose and the other a life drawing session with a variety of pose times. Participants can take their pick as to which part to attend, both in the same room!

Also on Wednesday nights the current MJAC session will now be in operation from 7pm at St Marks.

Portrait and Wednesday evening sessions start on the 29th and Life drawing starts March 14th.

We are hoping that this is a big step forward for life drawers in Perth as, if it works we will also fit in an afternoon session as well.

Thank you for your support .

Peter Efford

And that’s that. Portrait and drawing at the same time? That sounds quite nice.

Session for tonight (Feb 13th) is cancelled

Good morning all,

I’m really sorry to be doing this on such short notice, but my whole family (which includes myself) suddenly decided to get food poisoning yesterday, so I’m afraid I have to cancel the session for tonight (February 13th).

I have rebooked Brooke for March 12th, so we will be having her in shortly still. Sessions will still be on next week with Ron as our model.

Sorry again about the late notice.

The ball has begun rolling

Hello all, we’ve had a great first two sessions to the year. On the 30th we had Victoria in (with a short, curly and ginger hairstyle no less) and she was accompanied by Ladytron, M83 and Metronomy. Andrew was our model on the 6th and he was accompanied by Alice Cooper and The Cure.

Next week we’ll be back in our regular room, and we’ll have a new model by the name of Brooke being our model for the evening. The following week well be having Ron in.

By the way, there will be no session on March 6th as it is a Holiday, nor will there be one on March 19th due to outside commitments.

Cheers

Hello 2012!

Greetings all,

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing break. Our sessions return next week (Jan 30th) at our regular time of 6pm, but not in our regular room (at least for the first two weeks). As our room is being refurbished (I’m afraid I do not what hose refurbishments are at the moment) I guess they thought it would be unwise for us to trample through the room?

This room is about a 30 second walk away from our regular room (for those of you who have been coming since the beginning, it’s actually the original room at we started in) and is even closer to the Clifton St carpark as it is part of the ALVA Studio. I’ll have some signs up indicating the room, but if you do happen to go to the old room I’ll have a map up showing where the Studio is. The map below shows where the temporary location is in relation to the Lecture Theatre.

The first model we’ll be having in is Victoria, and on Feb 6th we’ll be having Andrew as our model.

Goodbye 2011

We had a smaller turnout for our last session of the year, but that worked out quite fine. The wine, cheeses and dip made the smaller group quite fun. Our theme for the evening was Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin.

We’ll be back in 2012 on Jan 30th.

For those interested in other life drawing sessions, I recommend checking out some of the other sessions before going in. Most of them will be taking a break at this time of the year. On the other hand, Dr. Sketchy’s tends to have even more during the summer on different days, so I recommend checking out there site to stay on top of that.

Happy holidays everyone.

A catch up

We’ve had a great last couple of sessions with Mark in on Nov 30th and Yollie in on the 5th. Musical themes have been along the lines of Beck, Arcade Fire and Garbage (also gave White Zombie a try but it didn’t quite work). We have one more session for the year on the 12th, and Kieran will be our model for the night.
